Why do moving companies toronto charge so much for a small apartment?

I just got quotes from several movers for my East York one-bedroom and the prices vary by over $300! I thought moving day would be straightforward, but now I'm stressed about hidden fees. Anyone else run into this? How do I find the best deal without risking a massive bill?
