How much do movers cost toronto for a move from forest hill

I’m moving from my first apartment in Forest Hill to a smaller unit downtown next month. Has anyone faced unexpected charges when working with moving companies? I just got a quote for $800, but I’ve heard horror stories about costs doubling on moving day. Any advice?
