Flat rate vs hourly movers in toronto which is the better option

I'm moving from my King West condo and debating whether to go with flat rate movers or hourly charges. I've gotten quotes ranging from $600 to $1,200 depending on the type. Anyone had experience with either option? Did you find one saved money or time in the long run?
