Why is Toronto Housing So Expensive? A Comparison

I can't believe how Toronto's housing prices compare to other cities! NYC is cheaper than Toronto, which makes no sense. Even Vancouver seems more reasonable in some areas. What justifies these sky-high prices? It feels like a housing crisis waiting to implode. Why are we paying so much more here?
