Do green features really save money? Curious but skeptical.

I've been looking into LEED and WELL certified buildings in Toronto, and while the eco-friendly features sound great, I'm wondering if the 'green premiums' actually result in real savings on utilities or maintenance. Are these marketing claims backed by solid evidence, or just clever advertising?
