Frustrated by Pet-Friendly Rental Search in Toronto!

Ugh, why is finding a pet-friendly apartment in Toronto such a nightmare? Every place I find either has crazy pet deposits or bizarre breed restrictions. It feels like landlords would rather see us homeless than allow a loyal pup! Anyone else dealing with this madness?
