Worried About Special Assessments Impacting Renters

I've been hearing rumors about special assessments in my condo community, and I'm concerned. Do renters end up having to pay these extra condo fees if they go up? I'm also worried about a potential rent increase because of it, and it’s making me think about leaving if the costs become too much.
