Can I afford rent on a $60k salary?

I'm feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out my rent budget. With a $60k salary, can I really afford $2400 in rent? That's 48% of my income! The 30% rule feels impossible in Toronto – is anyone else struggling with this? I just want to know if I'm alone in this rent madness.
