How much do movers cost toronto for a 1 bedroom near markham

I'm preparing to move from my 1-bedroom in Markham to downtown Toronto next month. I've been quoted anywhere from $600 to over $1200. It feels like such a range! Has anyone had a good or bad experience with movers in the city? Any tips on avoiding hidden fees?
