Why do toronto movers quotes vary so much for a small apartment

I'm planning a move from a 1-bedroom in Forest Hill to a smaller unit in the downtown core and got quotes ranging from $300 to $900! How can there be such a huge difference between the estimates? Is it timing, the volume of stuff, or something else? I need to finalize this by the end of the month!
