Why are moving companies toronto quoting so much unexpectedly

I just got quotes from several movers in the Junction Triangle for my 1-bedroom move next week, and the prices vary by over $300! Some are tacking on unexpected fees. Is there a standard process for how this works, or is this a common scam? Feeling stressed with the deadline looming!
