How to handle moving costs in toronto for a tiny studio apartment

I'm getting quotes for movers to transport my stuff from a student apartment near U of T. It’s just one truckload, but some quotes are varying by $400! Has anyone else experienced this? I’m really concerned about hidden fees popping up on moving day.
