My landlord’s summer check-ups are oddly timely!

So, my landlord keeps stopping by to 'check the furnace'—but it’s August! I get it’s good to be prepared, but who makes sure the heating's in check in the middle of heatwaves? Is this weird or am I the quirky one here? Anyone else find their landlords doing odd seasonal checks?
