How much do toronto movers charge for a last-minute booking

I thought hiring movers on short notice wouldn't be an issue, but I'm getting extremely high quotes ā like $1,200 for a simple one-bedroom in Downtown. Iām worried about additional surprise charges. Anyone else experience this? Do movers tend to be more flexible for last-minute requests?
