Why is Toronto Housing So Ridiculously Expensive?

Seriously, what’s going on with Toronto's housing market? I mean, I’ve seen price tags that could make NYC look cheap! How can Vancouver and Toronto be in a similar range, yet Toronto’s prices feel way more inflated? It just makes no sense! Anyone else shocked by these comparisons?
