How much do movers charge toronto for a basement apartment in the annex

I’m moving from a small basement apartment in the Annex next month and my budget is tight. I’ve heard quotes can be all over the place, sometimes up to $1,200 for just a few heavy pieces. Should I try a man with a van instead or stick with full-service movers for my expensive furniture?
