How much do movers charge toronto during end of month peak season

I'm relocating from a U of T student apartment and need to move fast. I've been quoted $800 for a 2-bedroom but heard that during month-end peak times, costs can skyrocket. Has anyone else had surprise fees or cash-only demands on the day? Need reliable movers soon!
