Is pet deposit legal in Ontario?

I'm a bit confused about pet deposits. My landlord wants a pet fee, but I heard that in Ontario, pet deposits might be illegal? What can landlords actually charge for pets? Is there a difference between a pet rent and a pet deposit? Any clarification would be helpful!
