Lost out on another rental—bidding wars are brutal!

Just got outbid again! Someone offered $300 over asking on a unit that I thought was already pricey. How is anyone even managed to afford this? I feel like I’m in a race with no finish line. Is this the new normal in Toronto? Any tips for standing out among all the applications?
