How much do toronto movers typically charge for a small apartment move

I'm moving from Brampton to downtown Toronto and have a tiny one-bedroom. I got quotes ranging from $400 to $800. Is that normal? How do I know if I'm getting a fair price from these moving companies? Any insights on tipping too? Feel a little lost here!
