Tackling my daily commute from 739 Birchmount Rd to downtown toronto

I'm considering 739 Birchmount Rd for its affordability, but I need to know how easy it is to get downtown via TTC. Are the buses frequent, and how long does it usually take during rush hour? Also, are there good bike lanes in the area for a quick ride to the station?
