Looking for advice on pricey Toronto neighborhoods this fall

I'm considering moving to Toronto soon and I've heard some neighborhoods can get really expensive in the fall. Are places like Yorkville and Rosedale worth it, or should I avoid them due to high prices? How much should I expect to pay for a one-bedroom? Thanks for your help!
