Why are quotes from movers in toronto so varied for a small apartment

I just got quotes from three moving companies to move my 1-bedroom in Forest Hill, and they differ by $400! I've got only 60 days to figure this out after a renoviction—how can I save money on movers while still getting a reliable crew? Anyone else dealt with this?
