Upstairs neighbor's loud music at all hours - how to approach this?

My upstairs neighbor plays loud music late into the night, and it's been difficult to get a good night's sleep. I’ve tried to be understanding, but it’s becoming unbearable. How do I address this without causing tension? What's the best approach to resolve this peacefully?
