Is 1836 Queen St E good for getting downtown on the TTC easily?

I'm considering moving to 1836 Queen St E with my pet and need to know how easy it is to get downtown. I prefer streetcars or buses and how close the nearest stops are. Also, are there bike lanes for weekend rides? Any insights on the vibe around here for a pet-friendly living situation would help!
