GTA Toronto movers – what should I expect to pay?
I’m trying to get a better idea of what moving actually costs around Toronto and the GTA these days.
There are so many moving companies that it’s hard to tell what a normal price is anymore. Some GTA Toronto movers charge hourly, some have minimum hours, and others seem to add separate fees for travel time, stairs, elevators, heavy items, etc.
For anyone who has moved recently in Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Scarborough or elsewhere in the GTA:
How much did you end up paying?
How many movers did you get?
Was the truck included in the hourly rate?
Did they charge travel time?
Were there any extra fees you weren’t expecting?
Would you use the same moving company again?
I’m especially curious about smaller 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom moves within the GTA.
It seems like getting a few Toronto moving quotes and comparing the total estimated cost is probably better than just choosing whoever advertises the lowest hourly rate.
Would be useful to hear some recent real-world prices from people who have actually moved.
