Confused about pet deposits in Ontario

I'm trying to figure out if a pet deposit is legal in Ontario. My landlord is asking for a pet fee, but I'm not sure what they can actually charge. I've heard conflicting things about pet deposits vs. pet rent. Can anyone clarify the rules around this?
