How to handle surprise charges from movers in toronto move day stress

Just experienced a nightmare moving day! The crew added $300 in surprise charges, saying it was for extra stairs at my Junction Triangle apartment. Now I'm stuck trying to dispute this. What are my rights here? Any advice on getting a refund? This whole experience has been draining!
