Why are Toronto moving costs so expensive? Can't believe it!

I’m shocked at the moving costs in Toronto! Seriously, how much do movers charge these days? I was hit with an elevator booking fee too. Is this normal? I keep hearing it’s cheaper to DIY, but what’s the average moving price? Any tips for dealing with these hidden expenses?
