How do people afford to live in Toronto anymore?

I genuinely don't understand how anyone survives in this city! With 2-bedroom prices skyrocketing, it feels like only rich people can afford to live here. What income do you need? Are roommates the only option? How do folks manage to pay rent and still have a life? I'm confused!
