Horror stories: Elevator broke on moving day. Carried everything up 12 floors

Worst moving day ever, and I need to share this! My elevator broke the morning of my move, and I had to haul every box and piece of furniture up 12 flights of stairs. With a heavy couch and an awkward dresser, we barely made it. If anyone has tips on making moving day smoother, I'm all ears!
