Considering Hamilton or Oshawa for Affordable Living

I'm exploring the idea of moving to Hamilton or Oshawa to escape Toronto prices. I'm curious about the commute times to downtown Toronto and if the savings on rent justify the longer travel. Any experiences living in the suburbs and taking the GO train? Would love to hear thoughts on the trade-offs!
