Average 1BR is now $2400 - who can afford this?

The average rent for a 1BR in Toronto has skyrocketed to $2400, and it's just not sustainable for most people. As someone making $60k, I'm spending over 60% of my income on rent. How are others affording rent in this city? It feels impossible to find anything under $2000 now.
