Average 1BR rent now $2400 - how is anyone managing this?

Just saw that the average rent for a 1BR in Toronto hit $2400! It's frustrating to think how my rent jumped from $1800 to $2600 just at renewal. How do people afford this? Is $2400 the new normal in 2025, or is there any hope for affordable housing here?
