Who's responsible for heat outages in winter rentals?

I'm new to Toronto and anxious about the winter ahead. What happens if there’s no heat in my rental unit during the cold months? I'm unsure about my rights and if my landlord is responsible for fixing heating issues and how quickly they should respond.
