Moving to Toronto - where are the priciest neighborhoods?

I'm relocating to Toronto soon and would love to hear from locals about neighborhoods to steer clear of due to high rent prices. I've heard Queen West and Yorkville are pretty steep, but what about places like Rosedale or the Distillery District? Looking for apartments under $2000 if possible!
