Struggling with Toronto's seemingly endless commutes

Is it just me, or does it feel like Toronto commutes take forever? I’m spending up to 90 minutes each way from Scarborough to downtown. At this rate, I’m losing so much time! Anyone have tips on making this trek a bit more bearable?
