Can I negotiate rent down in Toronto's 2025 soft market?

With the rental market softening in 2025 and many units sitting empty for weeks, I'm curious if it's possible to offer below asking rent. Is it common now to negotiate rent down, given that bidding wars are fading? Any advice on approaching landlords in this new environment would be appreciated!
