Exhausted from the Competitive Apartment Hunting Process in Toronto

Just need to vent real quick. Why is every good listing gone before I can even hit 'schedule viewing'? I feel like I'm competing in a race I can't win! And why do landlords ask for so much upfront? This process is just ridiculous and I'm completely burnt out. Anyone else feeling this way?
