1759 Victoria Park Ave - is there a lot of stuff to do nearby?

I've been eyeing 1759 Victoria Park Ave because I love having eateries and shops close by. How walkable is the area? What local spots are in the vicinity? Also, is the TTC access decent for getting around the city? Looking for something a bit lively but not too chaotic!
