Reality check - Being charged $200 for a background check, is this normal?

Just signed a lease and my landlord is charging me $200 for a background check along with the rent. I've never rented before, so I'm not sure if this is standard or if I'm being taken advantage of. Should I be worried about this fee or is it typical in this market?
