Danforth vs. Kensington: Where's the better rental vibe?

I'm torn between renting in Danforth and Kensington Market. Danforth seems more residential and quiet, while Kensington offers that vibrant bohemian flair with lots of eateries. Has anyone had experiences that highlight safety and quality in either area? Looking for some honest opinions!
