Help me decide - Downtown vs East York 1BR apartments

I'm torn between a $2200 Downtown 1BR and a $2000 East York 1BR. The Downtown place is closer to my work and has more amenities, but the East York one is larger and quieter. Commuting seems harder from East York, though. Convince me one way or the other, please!
