Are these deposit demands even legal?

I've seen landlords in Toronto asking for all kinds of deposits—pet fees, key deposits, and even damage deposits. How can they just add on these costs? Isn't there a limit to what they can charge? It's hard to believe all of these fees are legal. Anyone else facing similar issues?
