Shocked by Insane Parking Costs in Toronto!

I can't believe the monthly parking fees in Toronto! How much for a spot? It's outrageous! With some fees hitting up to $300, is street parking a viable alternative? Seriously, is it even worth paying for parking when you can search the streets for a free space? What are your thoughts?
