Can anyone afford rent in Toronto anymore?

The average rent for a 1BR in Toronto has skyrocketed to $2400 this year! I can't believe what I've been hearing—apartment prices are jumping from $1800 to $2600 during renewals. Even in Jane & Finch, rents are pushing $2200. Where are we supposed to go?
