Concerns About Safety in Toronto Neighborhoods

I've been hearing a lot about bike theft and break-ins lately in the area. It makes me a bit uneasy, especially when I come home late at night. I'd love to hear how others feel. Are there areas in Toronto that feel safer for nighttime walks or where bike security is better?
