Advice on Renting Near TTC Subway in Kensington Market

Hey everyone! I'm moving to Toronto in January for a new job, and I’m looking for a place in or near Kensington Market. How’s the transit access there? Is it possible to find a decent one-bedroom for under $2,500? Any recommendations on landlords or buildings to consider (or avoid)? Thanks!
