Shocked by Rent Hikes: Same Building, Different Prices!

I can't believe the rent increases I'm seeing! Looking for a short-term rental in Toronto, and it's crazy to find prices 30-50% higher than what I currently pay. Why is rent $500 more for a unit in the same building?! The turnover rent spike makes no sense to me. A real head-scratcher!
