Are pet deposits legal in Ontario? Confused about fees and charges!

I’m really confused about the whole pet deposit situation in Ontario. My landlord just asked for a pet deposit, and I thought those were illegal? Is there a difference between a pet fee and a deposit? What can landlords actually charge for pets, like pet rent? Any guidance would be appreciated!
